LTL Sourcing & Truckload Sourcing Events - The Importance of Drivers and Classifications

LTL Sourcing & Truckload Sourcing Events - The Importance of Drivers and Classifications

Hi I'm Mike Regan with TranzAct's Two Minute Warning for the week of July 20th. In this Two Minute Warning we're going
to take a look at some of the things that the carriers are doing that will definitely impact your freight
costs.   In the most recent Two Minute Warnings
we've been talking about how your company can conduct world-class transportation sourcing
events. Now the reason we're doing this is because we understand that you're under tremendous pressure to
manage and reduce costs whenever and wherever possible.

Now it's
in that spirit we want to share some information information that could have an impact on how much you pay to move freight in the future. Specifically, recently JB
Hunt said that they're going to be spending a lot of time looking at how shippers utilize their
drivers' time. Now a lot of you are familiar with the
tension but what JB Hunt is really saying is what happens when that driver calls
up to your doc or delivers straight to your customers is
going to be under intense scrutiny because JB Hunt wants
to make sure that their drivers are being compensated
for that time they're spending hauling your freight. Now the second
announcement comes courtesy of senator Booker from New Jersey who mentioned that he wants to introduce
legislation which would change the basis of compensation for drivers.
Specifically, he thinks truck drivers should be paid on an hourly basis.

Now
whether this legislation ever sees the light today isn't the
issue. But what senator Booker is telling you is the same thing JB Hunt is telling you and other trucking companies -- our drivers are extremely important and you need to understand that if you
wanna have a productive relationship with us. Now the third and final announcement I want to share with you deals with the issue of the
classification. Specifically, were seeing more LTL carriers focused on the classification of material being tended to them.

Now
whether you think its class 70, the carriers think it's 85, 92, we could go on and on. But the important
thing is that you have an accurate understanding of the material
that's been tendered to your LTL carriers. Now at TranzAct here, we have a wealth of information that can help you conduct world-class
transportation sourcing events. Whether it's our benchmarking
capabilities or access to experts that can give you more
information about classification than you'd ever want to know, we have the
information for you and we'd love to share with you.

In order to get that all you need to do is just send us an email or give us a call because with each and
every Two Minute Warning we're here to remind you, we're on your team, we're here to help, and we are passionate about seeing you be successful. Thanks for your time.  .
